At Deep Roots Turf Solutions, we believe a healthy lawn begins with strong roots, proper nutrition, and experienced care. Founded by Glen Stevens, a turf professional with more than 30 years of experience, our company combines golf-course expertise with personalized residential lawn care.


We provide professional fertilization, weed control, grub prevention, aeration, and overseeding services throughout Central New York. Every lawn is personally evaluated and serviced by Glen, allowing us to provide consistent care and make informed adjustments based on turf conditions, weather, and the specific needs of each property.




Meet Glen – More Than 30 Years of Turf Experience





Glen began his turf career in 1994 after moving to New York and becoming a golf course superintendent. He spent more than two decades managing and restoring professional turf, including many years at Stonegate Country Club at Summit Lake. In 2018, Glen became superintendent at Oneida Community Golf Course, where he helped lead a significant course restoration. His experience includes turf recovery, soil management, fertilization, weed and pest control, irrigation, aeration, and the development of long-term turf-management programs. In 2014, Glen established the Deep Roots Golf Course Division, providing deep-tine and core aeration services to golf courses throughout New York. His golf-course clients have included Seven Oaks at Colgate University, Teugega Country Club, Cedar Lake Club, and Cazenovia Country Club.



From Golf Courses to Residential Lawns





After years of golf course members asking Glen to help with their home lawns, Deep Roots Turf Solutions expanded into residential turf care. Today, homeowners throughout Oneida, Sherrill, Manlius, Cazenovia, and surrounding Central New York communities benefit from the same knowledge, products, and attention to detail used in professional golf-course management. Unlike larger lawn-care companies, Deep Roots does not send a different technician to your property each visit. Glen personally performs every application. This allows him to monitor changes throughout the season, identify problems early, and provide a consistent program designed around the health of your lawn. In 2023, Glen was also called upon to assist Kannon Valley Golf Course after the course experienced significant turf loss on several greens. Through carefully selected products, customized treatment plans, and hands-on management, he helped restore the damaged areas and return the greens to healthy playing conditions.



The Deep Roots Custom Fertilizer Blend





In 2025, Deep Roots introduced its own custom-blended fertilizer, developed specifically for the needs of Central New York lawns. Our professional 24-0-10 formula combines organic and synthetic nutrients to provide dependable color, controlled growth, and long-lasting nutrition. It contains 75% slow-release nitrogen and sulfate of potash to support strong roots, improved stress tolerance, and overall turf health. Unlike many lower-cost fertilizers, our blend contains no inexpensive rock fillers. Every ingredient is included to benefit the lawn. This custom fertilizer is an important part of the Deep Roots approach: using quality materials, professional knowledge, and carefully timed applications to produce healthier turf from the roots up.
